A Gift Guide for Mother’s Day 2023

Mother’s Day falls on Sunday 19th March this year, so now’s the time to plan how you are going to celebrate the special women in your life.

To help inspire you, busy mums and florist founders of Hoax, Lizzie, Latoyah & Gemma have shared their plans for Mother’s Day and the sure-to-please gifts they are planning on giving to their loved ones.

“As a mum of three, my Mother’s Day wish is to drink a cup of tea before it goes cold and have a relaxing bath without any interruptions!

As I don’t live near my mum, I’ve always sent flowers on Mother’s Day.  For the past two years I’ve chosen to send artificial rather than fresh flowers as the quality and style of the fresh flowers I sent were so hit and miss.  I love that the Hoax flowers I sent are still bringing my mum joy two years on, she enjoys moving them around the house to change the look and feel of different rooms.

My mum’s home has a calm neutral pallet with lots of side tables to fill, making the size and tones of Flora, Wren or Elodie  the perfect addition to her Hoax collection this Mother’s Day.”

“With two boys and third on the way I long to spend some time with my feet up in my beloved garden this Mother’s Day.

Since my mum lost her battle with cancer there have been many amazing women in my life who I like to show my appreciation to on Mother’s Day.

I wanted to gift something thoughtful & unique without spending a fortune so have chosen some of the smaller Hoax arrangements Iris, Bonnie & Ella which come pre-arranged in a vase for £35.  These vases will work perfectly in smaller spaces like a bedside table, shelf or small windowsill and be a constant reminder how grateful I am to have them in my life.

“My Mother’s Day will likely be spent cheering my son on the sidelines of a football pitch…my only hope is that its not pouring with rain!

Later on I will take my mum out for lunch, we love to try new restaurants and as we both work full time it’s a treat to relax and catch up.

Over the years flowers have definitely been my first choice for Mother’s Day gifts.  She loves big statement vases but can’t justify the cost of using fresh flowers when most of the week she isn’t home to enjoy them.   My mum would love the Hoax Aurora, a luxurious vase of pink blossom which she can enjoy for years to come without the mess of real petals.  I also think the show stopping Lyra and Zadie would work really well in her home.  If I can’t choose then I will leave the fun of decision making to mum and give her a Hoax Flowers gift voucher.”
